Mathematics: Content Knowledge

The Math Working Group analyzed content knowledge possessed by college ready students. This was categorized into four areas:

  1. Courses. This concerns the courses the student has taken in college.
  2. Standardized Tests. This concerns the student's scores on tests such as the SAT or ACT.
  3. Conceptual Understanding. This concerns the depth of a student's understanding of a topic and their ability to apply it or relate it to other topics.
  4. Content Knowledge. This concerns the student's competence with particular topics in high school mathematics.
Below is a complete list of our findings concerning these four areas.
